Dr. Devika Gunasheela has qualified from Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore. She was in UK from 1994 – 2000 where she completed her Post Graduation. Her main training took place in the West Midlands. She got her Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London in 2000 and she came back to India. She completed her Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine in 2005. She is the Director of Gunasheela Surgical & Maternity Hospital & Gunasheela Assisted Reproduction Centre Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore and Mysore.
She is a specialist in Infertility Medicine, Recurrent Pregnancy Loss and In-Vitro Maturation. She has to her credit many presentations in national conferences. She has written a plenty of articles in newspapers and co-authored many chapters for books.
Dr. Devika Gunasheela is taking the institute forward in the realm of In-Vitro Maturation of immature oocytes and Fertility Preservation in Young Cancer Survivors by building a team of consultants consisting of surgeons, physicians and radiotherapists involved in treatment of cancer in Bangalore to create awareness among the medical practitioners who should be aware of the existence of such a facility and general public.
Along with her husband – Dr. Rajsekhar Nayak, she has started Gunasheela Genomics Pvt Ltd., to conduct genetic testing for infertile couples and to help them choose the best embryos via PGS & PGD technology.

Dr.Devika Gunashela actively participated in the capacity of Joint Secretary, in “UPDATE IN REPRODUCTIVE MEDICINE” conference organized by Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction (ISAR) & executed by Karnataka Chapter of ISAR on 14th of October 2012 at API Bhavan, Bangalore. She delivered a lecture on “Tuberculosis and Infertility”.
Dr. Devika actively participated in the capacity of Treasurer in a conference hosted by “Karnataka Chapter of Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction (KISAR)” on 21st & 22nd of February 2013 at Hotel Sandesh, Mysore.
Dr. Devika Gunasheela delivered a lecture on “Difficult Cervical Cannulation at IUI & ET – Should it be evaluated & treated?”. She also spoke about “Fertility Preservation in Cancer Patients”.

a. The Academy of Clinical Embryologists (ACE) conducted their 2nd International Conference at Hotel Le-Meridien, Bangalore between 10th – 11th August 2013. Dr. Devika Gunasheela was invited and participated in the conference as a faculty. The highlights of this conference was four workshops dealing with :
Dr. Devika on Day 1 – 10th August, gave an IVF Clinical lecture on “rLH in COH – Indications and use” – duration of talk was 15 minutes followed by discussions. This session was sponsored by M/s. Merck Serono.
b. Professional / Technical Meeting
Dr. Devika Gunasheela participated as a moderator during a ICOS Meeting organized by M/s. Merck Serono Fertility Ltd., and the venue was Taj Krishna Hyderabad. The topic of the meeting was “Optimal Usage of Antagonist Protocol and Managing the Poor Responder Patients”. Prof. Peter Humaiden, specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology and professor at the Fertility Clinic at Skive Regional Hospital and Aarhus University, Denmark, an authority on the subject and an acclaimed, respected and accepted person in the field, conducted the symposium which was moderated by Dr. Devika Gunasheela – a great honour indeed.
Dr. Devika Gunasheela was invited to deliver a talk on “Role of LH in ART”, at Kolkata, by ISAR – Bengal, which would be inaugurated during the conference – ART-AIM UPDATE 2013, on 26th October 2013, organized by ISAR – Bengal, in collaboration with BOSG, Calcutta, conducted at Hotel HYATT REGENCY.
Dr. Devika actively participated in the capacity of Treasurer in the 3rd Annual Congress hosted by “Karnataka Chapter of Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction (KISAR)” from 2nd to 4th of May 2014, at The Golden Palms Hotel and Spa, Bangalore. Dr. Devika Gunasheela delivered a lecture on “Embryoscope – Time Lapse System”.
Gunasheela Fertility Centre conducted basic IUI Workshop twice at Kormangala – first workshop was on 21st June and the second on 7th September 2014. It was known as Ferti Connect – IUI Current Practice Update. This CM programme was conducted in association with M/s. Merck Specialities Pvt. Ltd. We received an amazing response from the doctors who presented themselves in full strength.

Dr. Jyothi Menon, along with other senior consultants of Gunasheela Hospital shared their vast experience and statistics of the IUI at Gunasheela Hospital. This was very well received by the doctors who were present for this programme and they were happy as their doubts regarding the IUI technique was solved very successfully. There are still requests pending from the company as well as various doctors to continue this workshop in future also.
Dr. Devika Gunasheela was invited by M/s. ABM-GR PHARMA to deliver a talk at a CME on “HYPERHOMOCYSTEINEMIA IN PREGNANCY”, at Hotel President, Bangalore on 6th July 2014. She explained the advantages of Tablet L-Methylfolate.
Dr. Devika Gunasheela attended WOOSP 2014 – 2nd World Congress on Ovulation Induction & Ovarian Stimulation Protocols – conducted by Dr. Gautam Allahbadia, organized by IVF Lite Foundation, at Jaipur from 7th to 10th August 2014. She delivered a lecture on “Recombinant LH in Poor Responders”.
Bangalore Society of Obstetrics & Gynaecology conducted Annual Conference – Gnanavarsha on 13th & 14th September 2014 at St. John’s Auditorium, Bangalore. One half a day session on Basic Infertility was completely sponsored by Gunasheela Hospital and was dedicated to the memory of Late Dr. Sulochana Gunasheela for her immense contribution to the field of Obstetrics, Gynaecology & Infertility. Dr. Suresh Nair- senior consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore, presented an oration lecture on Identification & Management of Poor Responders. Many case presentations and interesting topics were delivered in this session which had a very good response from the audience.
Dr. Devika Gunasheela was an invited speaker in 3rd International Congress of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (ICGO-2014) with the theme “Caring One Woman, Caring Whole One Family” held from October 24-26, 2014 in Taiyuan, China. She accepted the invitation and presented a lecture on “Strategies of Fertility Preservation in Young Cancer Patients”. Her talk was much appreciated by the experts in the subject.

Dr. Devika Gunasheela was invited to participate in “The International Institute for Training and Research in Reproductive Health” – Life 2014 conference held on 31st October, 1st and 2nd of November 2014 at Hotel Le Meridien, Bangalore. Dr. Devika Gunasheela presented a lecture “Diminished Ovarian Reserve”.
Dr. Devika Gunasheela was an invited speaker in International Conference on Women and Girl Child for Social and Economic Equality-2014 (ICWCS-2014) scheduled on 17th – 18th of November 2014 at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, INDIA. The conference was co-organized by Clinton Foundation (USA) and supported by Indian Council of Medical Research, Government of India. The conference was designed on the theme promoting health n “Women and Girl Child for Social and Economic Equality – 2014” with a vision and strategy to design a global strategy for Women and Girl Child health initiatives. Dr. Devika Gunasheela presented a lecture on “Preservation of Fertility in Young Cancer Patients”.
G-FIT is a program which looks at delivering knowledge at doctors’ door step- with focus on INFERTILITY and its MANAGEMENT. G-FIT – An initiative by Glenmark in association with FOGSI Infertility Committee. G-FIT is a Web CME program divided into 10 sessions. Dr. Devika Gunasheela was invited as a faculty for the 8th session of this programme – Ovulatory dysfunction: other issues!” on 7th February 2015 and was directed towards providing cutting edge information on the recent yet clinically relevant advances in the management of Infertility especially for the practicing Gynaecologists of India. Dr. Devika Gunasheela actively participated in this and delivered a lecture on “HYPERPROLACTINEMIA”. The session was slated for 20 minutes followed by live interaction with the registered audience across India for Q and A and discussion.
Dr. Devika actively participated in the capacity of Treasurer in the 4th Annual Congress hosted by “Karnataka Chapter of Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction (KISAR)” on 13th, 14th and 15th February 2015 at The Hotel Atria, Bengaluru. The theme for this year’s congress was the dilemmas in the field of Reproductive Medicine and the impact of Assisted Reproductive Technologies on the pregnancies achieved. A galaxy of National and International faculty provided the audience the basic and scientific background for clinical recommendations in infertility management.

Dr. Devika Gunasheela was invited by Ruby Hall IVF & Endoscopy Centre to participate in SURGE 2015, [Sharing Recent Updates in Reproduction & Gynecological Endoscopy] on 27th, 28th Feb & 1st March 2015, at Hotel Le Meridien, Pune. This was the 6th Live Surgery Workshop & International Conference on Endoscopy and ART organized & hosted by Ruby Hall IVF and Endoscopy Centre endorsed by IAGE (Indian Association of Gynecological Endoscopist) ?and MSR (Maharashtra State Chapter of ISAR). Dr. Devika Gunasheela presented a lecture on “Endocrinology on Follicular Phase” on 1st March 2015.
a. Dr. Devika Gunasheela participated in a conference “Cutting Edge 2015 – “PRACTICING IN INDIA? BE PRACTICAL! – Changing scenarios in fertility practice in India”, organized by Team India ARTIST (Asian Research & Training Institute for Skill Transfer) on 9th & 10th May 2015. The organizing team was headed by Dr. Hema Divakar and apart from National faculty, faculty from abroad also participated.
As a National Faculty Member, Dr. Devika Gunasheela chaired a session on “INNOVATIVE EMBRYOLOGICAL TECHNIQUES“ on 9th May 2015, along with Dr. Nalini Mahajan & Dr. Santosh Gupta. This session was mainly for FERTILITY SPECIALIST. She also participated as a panelist in a panel discussion on “FREEZE ALL AND THEN TRANSFER LATER POLICY” along with Dr. Richard Fleming, Nalini Mahajan, Padmarekha Jirge and Reeta Biliangady. The moderator of this panel was Dr. Sonia Malik.
b. Glenmark FOGSI Infertility Tutorials (G-FIT) is a program which looks at delivering knowledge at doctors’ door step- with focus on INFERTILITY and its MANAGEMENT. G-FIT – An initiative by Glenmark in association with FOGSI Infertility Committee.
Dr. Devika Gunasheela was invited to participate in G-FIT National Summit programme on “UPDATED ROLE OF PROGESTERONE IN REAL WORLD CLINIC SETTINGS” on 24th May 2015 at Hotel Le-Meridien, Bangalore. She actively participated in the role of Regional Co-ordinator in the symposium on ‘PROGESTERONE. FROM HOPE TO EVIDENCE!!. This National Event sessions was streamed live from Delhi to various locations across India followed by National Consensus Survey on role of Progesterone in Reproductive Medicine using a ‘Progesterone Assessment Survey’ Questionnaire. The Questionnaire involved solicited feedback from the audience on the preferred line of therapy in various clinical states on progesterone use.
Karnataka Chapter of Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction (KISAR) in association with Belgaum OBG Society a conference on Focused Symposium on Genital Tuberculosis on 26th July 2015 at Belgaum. Dr. Devika Gunasheela delivered a lecture on “Hysterosalpingography – How helpful is the Clue?”.
International Institute for Training & Research in reproductive Health (IIRRH) conducted ‘Life Conference 2015’ from 30th October to 1st November 2015. Dr. Devika Gunasheela was a Moderator for a Panel Discussion on “Back to back performance in the IVF Lab – What went Wrong?”. She was also one of the panelists in a Panel Discussion on “Management of Poor Responders – What’s New?”.
Karnataka State Obstetric and Gynecology Association (KSOGA) conducted workshop on “Infertility & ART” on 27th November 2015 at JSS Medical College, Mysore. Dr. Devika Gunasheela delivered a lecture on “Monitoring of Ovulation Induction in IUI Cycles”.
