Gunasheela: A New Hope for New Lives
History of Gunasheela Hospital
In 1975, Dr. Sulochana Gunasheela – a renowned gynaecologist and Dr. Mavahalli Gunasheela – an accomplished surgeon, started The Gunasheela Surgical & Maternity Hospital (GSMH). GSMH commenced its service with a 12-bedded nursing home and in a very short period of time established a name for its high level of treatment in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, a hospital where one could obtain the best evidence-based treatment as is prevalent in Western Countries.
Currently, it is a 60-bedded tertiary Care Centre specialized in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Surgery & Infertility. It is renowned for its ability to take care and ensure safe delivery in the most complicated pregnancy cases. The Hospital started to grow and in line with the philosophy of keeping abreast with modern technology, new diagnostic equipment and facilities were continuously added from time to time. The Gunasheela Centre has earned a reputation for its exceptional ability to take care of high-risk pregnancies and patients with history of recurrent abortions. It has opened a new unit – “GUNASHEELA HIGH RISK CLINIC”, next to the main unit, to provide specialized and individualized care to patients who have had bad obstetric histories and who have medical disorders with complicating pregnancies.
Gunasheela Surgical & Maternity Hospital has all the modern facilities for Operative & Diagnostic Laparoscopy & Hysteroscopy and Tubal re-canalisation of women who seek restoration of fertility after the previous tubectomy.
